- Elder Lex Bourke

Our Beliefs
We are a Presbyterian Church, which means that the Church is ruled by elders (Presbuteros from the Greek word meaning elder) under the headship of Christ, the only King and Head of the Church.
In doctrine we are a Reformed Evangelical Church.
That is, we identify with the historical Reformation.
In this way we are Reformed and ever reforming according to the word of God
We are evangelical, for we are committed to proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ to those who are lost.
We also understand the Scripture from a Covenantal position. Those who were God’s people prior to Christ’s coming as our Saviour were under the Old Covenant and looked forward to God’s salvation in Christ. Those who are God’s people after Christ’s coming as our Saviour are under the New Covenant, for we look back to God’s salvation in Christ.
About the Bible
We believe the Bible is God’s word, that it is God breathed and in the original manuscript is without error. It is the final decider about all matters of truth, life, reason and faith.
We are a confessional Church and the Westminster Confession is the standard that explains that confession. It is an accurate explanation of what the Bible teaches.
About God
God is one God, but three persons, that is He is the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
He is the Triune God. God is eternal, all-knowing (omniscient), all-powerful (omnipotent), ever-present (omnipresence).
God is the Creator of all things, creating all things out of nothing (ex nihilo).
God is Sovereign over all creation, including mankind. Because all people are sinners (Acts 3:23), God requires that all people everywhere to repent of their sins and to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. He has made this possible in that He loved the world so much He sent His only Son into the world to be the Saviour of His people. John 3:16 & Mathew 1:23
Jesus Christ the Saviour died and rose again and ascended into Heaven. He is King of kings and Lord of lords. Therefore, God wants all people to turn away from sin and to trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, however, those who remain in sin cannot have salvation.
